Route planning

Find the right airport without the confusion of codes

A single city may be served by several airports: for example, Moscow is served by Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, and Vnukovo, while Istanbul is served by IST and SAW airports. Check the airport code on your ticket to plan your transfer and departure time correctly.

Match the IATA code with the departure and arrival airports, especially if the city is served by multiple airports. The four-letter ICAO code may also be used in reference information.

02

Terminal and check-in time

The terminal may change. Please check your itinerary receipt, carrier notifications, and the board before departure.

03

Transfer and time reserve

Consider the distance to the airport, traffic conditions, security checks, and airline check-in policies.

Questions about airports

What is the difference between IATA and ICAO codes?

The IATA code typically consists of three letters and is used on tickets, schedules, and baggage tags. The ICAO code consists of four letters and is used in aeronautical documentation. For example, Manas Airport has the codes BSZ and UCFM.

Why does one city have multiple airport codes?

A large city may be served by several airports. Each has its own code, and the city may share a common agglomeration code: for example, MOW unites Moscow's airports.

How does the schedule differ from the online scoreboard?

The scheduled schedule shows regular flight days and times. The online board displays the actual status for the selected date: check-in, delay, cancellation, departure, or arrival.

Where can I check my departure terminal?

Check the terminal on your itinerary receipt, app, or airline notification, and check the official airport board before departure.
